I’ve discovered that some people read this book and are informed, encouraged and maybe even intrigued, but they are still unclear on how the actual healing part works.
Allow me to make this painfully clear. A person who desires to be healed must be willing to go back to where they were damaged/hurt. Remember, forgiveness and healing are two different things. Many choose to forgive, but they never release the pain, shame, fear, etc. and it remains trapped inside (until it is consciously and deliberately given to Jesus). If you were damaged at age five, there’s a good chance that part of you is still stuck at age five. If you were raised in a bar room scene, chances are your morals were trashed early in life. The only way to be healed from that is to go back to it and have Jesus restore you. If you were raised in a religious setting where dad ruled with an iron fist and a pile of anger, you will need to be “deprogrammed” from that or you will do the same things to your children. Your programming cannot and will not change if you refuse to look at it.
If you were introduced to sex (which by the way was designed for marriage) in an unhealthy and perverted way, you will have to relive those events in order to give them to Jesus. He can not and will not heal you of something that you have chosen to keep hidden away, deep within your soul.
But take heart! If you are willing to face your past, leaving no stone unturned, Jesus will be waiting with love and compassion, His arms wide open, ready to set you free.
